bcz i m not fully expert in css,xml,php….etc…
anybody tell me abt that………ok
There isn’t an easy solution for this. You could use Dreamweaver but it might be a little difficult if you don’t have a simple understanding of how PHP works.
Good luck.
Usually it is hardcoded, you have to edit index.php manually.
Go to <Joomla_Folder>/templates/<YourTemplate>/index.php and edit this file to edit your footer.
I’m looking for a template that’s red/yellow/orange/black, and that is free.
Hi SkyStorm,
As of mid-december, you should be able to search most known joomla templates by colour scheme & price (as well as a whole lot of other criteria) at http://www.joomlatemplatesearcher.com
The site is up in a test form, but the database is mostly empty & it only works in FireFox2 & IE7.
Besides the fact that a chameleon uses its tail almost like a fifth leg, some of us know that chameleons change their color in response to light exposure and ambient temperature, as well as to express their good mood. You too will be in a good mood as you use the chameleon-like facilities of the Joomla! Template to change the color of your Website without having to rip it down. Youll be even happier to know that when Joomla! plays chameleon, it can change the entire look and feel of your site, not just the color, in seconds, and that should put you in an even better mood. This tutorial is what you need to get started to effectively use JoomlaTemplates on your website(s). It starts with the default Templates that come with the base package and from there it walks you through a process in which you will change the site Template several times to examine the impact on the various content items. You will also download popular & free Templates from the Internet and install them on your Joomla! site and then make them the default for the whole site or just portions. You will note how quickly you can change your mind and how easily you can put the chameleon to work for you. There are lots of Joomla! Tutorials out there. But, there are none that focus entirely on the notion of the Joomla! Template as an object of study. One example after another shows you how to use Joomla! Templates to enhance your total Web experience and the look and feel of your sites. You wont want to put down this comprehensive quick-start guide to learning about Joomla! Templates now that youve got your hands on it.
I’ve found a template that I really like from WordPress but I want to switch to using joomla. Is it possible to use a wordpress template in joomla? If so, how?

This tutorial created by Artisteer Help located at http://www.artisteerhelp.com/
When you make these modifications, rather than Artisteer creating the static site name (Headline) and slogan (Slogan text) areas that have to be modified by editing the index.php file, all templates created in Artisteer will automatically get this information directly from Joomla. The best part about using this modification is that anyone using one of these templates can change the site name and slogan from within their Joomla administration panel.
I downloaded a template for Joomla, and when I unzip it, it remains four seperate files so I can´t download it to my webpage. How do I unzip it so it becomes one icon that I can upload it?
you dont have to unzip it.
1. Log in to your administrator backend of the site. The link to your administrator section should be like this: http://www.yoursite.com/administrator/ .
On the top, go to Site -> Template Manager -> Site Templates
1. Select New from the options.
2. Browse to your template’s zip file and select it.
3. Then select Upload File & Install.
When the template has uploaded and installed on your site, select continue.
Now, let’s publish the new template.
Select the radio button on the Left of the Template name and after that click Default from the Menu to set it as your default template.
That’s it! Your template is installed and ready for viewing.
A web CMS is a content management system software used for managing content for the web.
The software manages content (text, graphics, links, etc.) for distribution on a web server. Usually the software provides tools where users with little or no knowledge of programming languages and markup languages (such as HTML) can create and manage content with relative ease of use. Most systems use a database to hold content, and a presentation layer displays the content to regular website visitors based on a set of templates. Management of the software is typically done through a web browser, but some systems may be modified in other ways.
A Content Management System (CMS) differs from website builders like Microsoft FrontPage or Macromedia Dreamweaver in that a CMS allows non-technical users to make changes to an existing website with little or no training. Website building tools like FrontPage and Dreamweaver require more technical knowledge and training on average. A CMS is an easy-to-use tool that gives authorized users the ability to manage a website. A CMS is a website maintenance tool rather than a website creation tool.
Let’s talk about Joomla! Content Management System now.
Joomla! is one of the most powerful Open Source Content Management Systems on the planet. It is used all over the world for everything from simple websites to complex corporate applications. Joomla! is easy to install, simple to manage, and reliable.
One of the ways people use Joomla! CMS:
* Corporate websites or portals
* Online commerce
* Small business websites
* Non-profit and organizational websites
* Government applications
* Corporate intranets and extranets
* School and church websites
* Personal or family homepages
* Community-based portals
* Magazines and newspapers
* the possibilities are limitless…
Joomla! can be used to easily manage every aspect of your website, from adding content and images to updating a product catalog or taking online reservations.
Advanced use of Joomla!
Out of the box, Joomla! does a great job of managing the content needed to make your website sing. But for many people, the true power of Joomla! lies in the application framework that makes it possible for thousands of developers around the world to create powerful add-ons and extensions. Here are just some examples of the hundreds of available extensions:
* Dynamic form builders
* Business or organizational directories
* Document management
* image and multimedia galleries
* E-commerce and shopping cart engines
* Forums and chat software
* Calendars
* Blogging software
* Directory services
* Email newsletters
* Data collection and reporting tools
* Banner advertising systems
* Subscription services
* and many, many more…
You will probably ask yourself what’s the catch?
There is no catch. Joomla! is free, open, and available to all under the GPL license.
